  1. Entry Guard Systems was founded in 1982 as a residential security company. EGS’s first owner moved into the commercial access market in the early 1990’s, and shortly after added Parking Access and Revenue Control (PARC) equipment to EGS’s list of products and services. Over the next 15 years, EGS built a strong team of technicians and a reputation for high-quality service, while expanding its coverage area outside Central Virginia to include Hampton Roads and Roanoke.

In 2003 Frank Kollmansperger bought Entry Guard Systems and took over as President. Since then, EGS has grown tremendously. Not only has the company continued to provide PARC systems, building access and CCTV systems, EGS has expanded its product line by adding residential and commercial gate operators (slide gates and swing gates), and has recently added an innovative lighting product line which offers customers a more cost- and energy-efficient alternative to what is currently available on the market.

EGS has installed systems in, and provides service for the majority of parking decks in the Greater Richmond area, as far west as Blacksburg and Roanoke, north to Winchester and Southeast to Hampton Roads. All along, Frank Kollmansperger and the EGS staff’s commitment to providing outstanding service and top-quality products has remained their number one priority.
